| The call of the Fish Eagle is another magical call in the wild. |
Our final morning in the park but it was a quiet one. Even the game drive vehicles were telling us that the area was quiet. We did both the east and western sides of the Khwai gate but there wasnt even spoor to be found.
 |
| Usually docile and tolerant but these two had an issue with each other. |
By 10 o'clock we were done and starting the 35km service road from north gate to south gate. A quick lunch at the gate at South gate and we were off to Maun. The dead elephant that we'd seen near Kazikini was all but picked apart by the vultures with only a couple of hooded vultures pulling on the bones.
 |
| It will take a while but it will be back to dust. |
Stopping at the Shorobe tarmac to pump up the tyres and we were into Maun and stocking up on food for dinner. We were staying on the other side of town this time at Sitatunga Camp so we headed out to them and checked in. The campsite is a big sandy campground with shared ablutions for the campers and overland trucks but there is also an option to have a private campsite which gives you your own ablutions - unfortunately they were all booked by the time we looked for a campsite.
 |
| One last goodbye, these two Ele's at the South gate exit. |
We set up our tent and cracked open an end of trip beer. The hopes that the overland trucks wouldn't be around was short lived as 3 arrived in short succession at dusk. While noisy, they occupied the bar and restaurant on the other side of the campground and by the time the bar closed at 9pm they were all quieting down. In fact the loudest people were in the campsite opposite us, a group of Namibian retirees out on the 1st day of their trip into Northern Botswana and they were still chatting around their fire when we fell asleep.

| Back in civilization, reliving the moments of another awesome trip. |
The next morning, we were up before the overlanders and out the gate after muffins and coffee. The long drive beckoned and a fuel stop in Ghanzi and Kang would get us home to Gabs. Moremi had yet again delivered a fabulous trip with the highlight of the show being the waters of the delta and of course the rarest of antelopes, the Sitatunga being the prize sighting. Already planning our next trip as we head back home, it's time to relax and relive our wonderful experience through the photos and videos. Moremi, we'll see you again next year!

| Long drive home to Gabs, the roads in Botswana are long and flat. |
