Up early at 5 am but it took a while to get breakfast and the last of the packing done before we got on the road just before 6.30. We'd chosen the longer route - via Lobatse and Ghanzi - rather than travel on the busy Palapye road, but it was an uneventful drive to Maun.

| It's a long drive from Gaborone to the wildlife |
We pulled into Crocodile Camp late afternoon after crossing the bridge over the Thamalakane river that was actually flowing! Considering that at the same time last year the river was dry, it was amazing to see how much water there was in the river.

| Locals taking Mokoro rides down the Thamalakane. |
We quickly checked in and set up our tent before heading off to the bar to enjoy the sunset next to the river and enjoy watching the local mokoro rides going up and down. Dinner was at the restaurant where Cheryl was lucky enough to spot the resident genet while coming back from the toilets. We caught up with a couple of friends that happened to be at the restaurant as well, before heading to get a good night's sleep and head to Moremi first thing in the morning.
