Campsite #5, good stand with a nice tree, we are set to hit the road north to Maun.
An early start for us to get in a morning game drive before leaving. We did a round through the park but as expected there wasn't too much around. We have seen both Hyena and Leopard tracks at Kharma, but this place is about the Rhinos. There are Giraffe, Zebra and other game about including Impala and Springbok appearing in the same place.
We did a quick stop to organize our lunch before starting the 5 hour drive to Maun. Refueling in Lethlakane and then a stop along the highway for lunch and we arrived in Maun by mid afternoon.

The ancient trees at Mmadikola is only noteworthy stop on the road to Maun.
We headed to the Department of wildlife to see if we could pay our park fees upfront but unfortunately they were all gone for the long weekend. A restock and then we headed to our campsite for the evening. Sitatunga Camp is a bit far out of town but considering it was a long weekend it was probably for the best, avoiding the partying revelers in exchange for the night sounds of owls calling while we braaied.

Sitatunga Camp, you get your own ablutions.
We were entertained by the trio of resident dogs that knew eventually they would get scraps off us if they were patient enough and so to the sound of crunching bones we ate, showered and climbed into the rooftent to a nice pleasantly cool night, waiting to see what tomorrow in Savute would bring.
