Elections in Nxai Pan

Ready for Nxai Pan

Botswana announced that their elections would be held on 30 October, which would be a public holiday with the following day also being declared a holiday. These holidays would fall on a Wednesday and Thursday so it was a no-brainer for us to take Friday off to have a 5 day long weekend. 

There are only a few places that would be worth 5 days. Moremi and Chobe both deserve longer and for Khutse it seemed too long. We were planning to hit Mabuasehube in January so we decided on Nxai Pan, a place that we could probably also get a few bookings at the last moment. 

Bookings were made but Cheryl only got back from South Africa the day before so it was up to Dru to sort out all the food, water and charging. But all was ready for our trip on Wednesday morning. 

We haven’t had good luck in Nxai Pan the last few times we’d been but fingers crossed that this time would be better.
